Good evening.
The floor is starting to turn from fall into winter. Local outdoor crops are winding down, with sunflower and dahlia both close to the end of their season, while branches are moving in ahead of Christmas.
That makes this a bit of a transition week. If you still want the last of the Ontario-grown seasonal lines, the time to move on them is now. At the same time, curly willow and ilex are giving buyers something new to work with, while greenhouse lines like lilies remain well supplied.
Here’s where to look this week.

|
This week’s signal
Branches are in.
Grower 203 has curly willow in red, yellow and green, with smokebush, rosehips and birch poles alongside. Growers 305 and 360 have ilex in.
There’s less smokebush on the floor than last week, so if you want it alongside the willow, I’d move on the smokebush early.

From the market
What I’d order early, and what there’s plenty of.

Sunflower
Local sunflower is close to done for the year. Growers 390, 361 and 360 still have some on the floor, but a lot less than last week.
It’s been a great season for it. Once the local crop is done, sunflower will be imported.

|
|
Dahlia
Dahlia is finishing too. There isn’t enough light now to get it to flower, so growers will be moving on to new crops soon.
Growers 339 and 344 have dahlia this week, with additional supply on the floor as well.

|
Lilies
There are still plenty of lilies. Growers 328, 334, 375 and 351 all have them this week, so there’s plenty to choose from.
They’re greenhouse-grown, so they aren’t seeing the same seasonal drop as the outdoor crops.

Well supplied this week
Hydrangea · Carnations · Roses · Chrysanthemum
All four are available from several growers this week, with plenty to choose from.
