Good Morning!
September brings the city back to work. Events, corporate orders and the run into Thanksgiving all land over the next few weeks, and the floor is starting to look like it.
Dahlias are still where we’d spend the most time this week. Below that, what else moved, what’s worth planning around, and three of our growers with a lot on the floor.

This week’s signal
Dahlia season is at full tilt.
Growers 339, 344 and 229 all have them on the floor this morning, and several other growers are carrying them right now as well.
The ball and decorative forms are both there, across most of the colour range, so there is enough to build a design around rather than treat as the occasional accent.
| Six growers have them right now. |

From the market
Tariffs, and what they mean for buying Ontario grown.
Ontario flower and plant growers are facing real uncertainty as the U.S. tariffs on Canadian flowers continue. Local supply has not been significantly affected yet, but that pressure will build. Ontario growers are among the best in the world, and it is no coincidence that many have built strong markets with buyers south of the border. Those markets are much harder to reach now.
Ontario Flower Growers is a grower-owned cooperative. Every purchase made through OFG supports the Coop and, in turn, Ontario growers. That includes locally grown product and the imported flowers and plants that give your customers assortment and year-round availability.
As the outdoor Ontario season winds down over the coming weeks, imports will become a larger part of the mix. But where Ontario grown product is available, there is a real opportunity to feature it and make that choice visible to your customers.
Canadians are actively looking for Canadian products and Canadian-owned businesses. Buying through a grower-owned Ontario cooperative is a straightforward place to start.
